Col. Larry Saunders (Rtrd.), Fort Lewis Military – Training Operations
Larry Saunders, president of JDI Solutions, LLC, is a consultant, coach, and trainer in complex high-level law enforcement and security operations world-wide. He provides customized curriculum in leadership and law enforcement development to include strategic planning, values based policing, ethics, management, investigations, police intelligence, community policing and infrastructure redevelopment, and community mobilization, life support and security.
He traveled extensively while serving in the United States Army where he developed his expertise in understanding different cultures, assimilation and co-existence. He is currently serving as a primary advisor to the Department of State for police development in Iraq and as a senior instructor on transformational leadership for the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Additional accomplishments include serving as the senior advisor to the Iraq deputy minister for police training where he coordinated UN, European Union, NATO and United States police training programs; director of Organization of the American States programs for Haitian stability and security; and 17 years as a police chief in organizations ranging in size from 130 to 1,215 with budgets exceeding $300M. In 2005 Larry was selected as the Washington state police chief of the year.
